  5. Now, with SOHO, for the first time the frequency spectrum of surface velocity has been measured from space, yielding 
  6. a quality of signal never reached before. GOLF results can give a detailed profile of the sound speed in the inner core 
  7. of the Sun. GOLF has now detected acoustic mode frequencies of more than 100 modes extending from 1.2 mHz to 5.5 
  8. mHz. In addition, GOLF shows clear evidence of 'pseudo-modes' at frequencies higher than 5.5 mHz (the acoustic cut-
  9. off frequency).
  10. A tentative discovery of two candidates for internal gravity modes remains to be verified.
